User and permissions

User and permissions

Chemsoft distinguishes between user types, permissions in the organisation tree and permissions in functions (modules). It has predefined user types such as:

  • Administrator - Administrator has the permission to create user types like Group administrator, Standard users and Read-Only. They have also an overview of all users registered in Chemsoft.
This particular user is granted all permissions in the entire system.

  • Group administrator - This kind of user type administrates users within the group and other group-specific information. Group administrators has access to most of the functions in the system, except for system wide settings and also editing users belonging in other groups. These are the following functions they can handle:
    - Local settings
    - Start page for current group
    - Column settings for user group
    - User management for current group

  • Standard user - Standard users have permission to both write and read within some modules. The user cannot do any kind of changes in system settings or create new work steps for risk assessment.

  • Read-only - A user who has Read-only as the user type has only read permission in Chemsoft.

If you want to edit permissions without any restrictions, select Adapted and modify the permissions.

Permissions in the organisation

A user can have various permission (read/ write) in different parts of the organisation.

Write permission - in the organisation tree means that the person has the ability to change the name of departments (and edit other department-specific information) and archive/activate departments

Read permission - in the organisation tree means that the person can see (read) but cannot change the name of departments (or edit other department-specific information) or archive/activate departments.

No permission - can be used for Administrator/Group administrator to see which parts of the organisation that is not shown for a specific user.

Good to know, No permission cannot be used to remove permissions, instead use the button “Delete all permissions”.
